New Beginnings Human Services Agency is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide multidisciplinary professional development in grant procurement, grant management, and organizational strategic planning for human service practitioners working in social work, education, psychiatry, psychology, mental health, law enforcement, and education.
My Story
Dr. Sandra Y. Ford, Ph.D

Dr. Ford is an advanced level Human Services Practitioner. She is experienced in grant research, grant writing, monitoring, and reporting on federal, state, and local grant opportunities. She is highly engaged in capacity building initiatives with community-based stakeholders and non-profit organizations for strategic partnerships and opportunities. Dr. Ford has secured over $6,000,000 in grant funding. She also works across multidisciplinary disciplines to provide grant professional development for faculty and staff on a university level. Dr. Ford works diligently to increase grant funding and to implement various project initiatives for various colleges and departments on campus.

Dr. Ford’s most noteworthy professional accomplishment is the establishment of New Beginnings Human Services Agency in North Charleston, SC. She has served as the Executive Director since 2005. New Beginnings served over 500 children at the New Beginnings 21st Century Community Learning Center from 2007-2012, by providing academic enrichment and family literacy initiatives for underprivileged elementary school students at Windsor Hill Elementary.
Dr. Ford completed her Ph.D in Human Services and Multidisciplinary Human Services at Capella University in May 2021. She successfully expanded Microaggression Theory by conducting a generic qualitative research study about the Experiences of African American women with Microaggression while employed in Human Services organizations. Dr. Ford is also highly adept in qualitative research and program evaluation. She also has a Grant Writing Certificate from the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Ford’s spiritual goals are to have an intimate relationship with the Lord Yeshua and to continue transforming into a Godly Servant and Holy Women of God.
